The native Indians (Dravidians) worshipped nature gods, animals, elements, spirits and also various other gods. With the incoming of the Aryans, other Hindu deities such as Shiva, Ganesha were worshipped.
The Aryans were responsible for introducing temples to various regions in India. The modern state of Kerala had also been introduced to temples in the same way.
They made temples on citadels of stone or wood. The temples were simple but they used rich adornment in the temples.
There are numerous temples all over India today. The temples in Kerala are strict about their rules. |
