Kerala Festivals in India

You can enjoy Pooram, Vela, Thalappoli and Utsavam. Pooram is one of the extraordinary events of Kerala. It is said that Gods and Goddess reach for the celebration on marvelously ornamented tuskers. On this festival, more than hundred tuskers will be standing in front of the temple premises .

All the tuskers will be decorated to impress Gods and Goddess, and therefore they will be decorated in the marvelous way. To decorate they will use colorful silk umbrellas, white tufts and peacock feather fans, with musical tempo. This will also help them to invite the God.

Thrissur Pooram is the traditional festival for two devis (Goddess) on elephants. This traditional festival is completed at the Vadakunnathan Temple. The formal procedure of changing of the parasols held above the elephants is considered with a thrilling coordination.

An orchestra of drummers is accompanied to the ritual. Firework is the most thrilling experience that you should experience.

Festivals of Kerala also have a famous boat race. It is called the snake boat race. It is organized during the second week of the August every year. There are many other festivals where boats are used. A carnival of boats and races at Aranmula, are held in second week of the September, which is 128 Km from Thiruvananthapuram.

It is also a part of Parthasarthy Temple Festival. In the snake boat, more than hundred of oarsmen will participate, every year. During this event, thousands of people will come together in the water edge. They will meet to cheer players. 

The first day of Malayali New Year is called Vishu. It is believed that, during the sunrise, if you look at any positive object then the Coming year will have peace and prosperity.
