Ezhimala Beach

Beaches always enjoy unabated supply of tourists as they can boast of scenic beauty. There are numerous beaches all over the world. However, it is not that all the beaches enjoy never ending supply of tourists.

The Ezhimala beach has a hillock at an elevation of 286 meters. The much acclaimed Naval Academy of Kerala undergoes development at this very spot. This beach is situated at a radius of 55 kilometers from Kannur. It is a delighting combination of natural beauty and history. This beach is positioned between hills and is hence situated at a higher altitude.

The Ezhimala beach is partially secluded as permission to visit this beach has to be obtained in advanced. The beach is further beautified by the scattering of stone pillars that were sculpted ages ago. The feeling of taking a stroll among golden sands in a serene beach sends arrows of delight through the back of each one of its visitors.

An ancient mosque is sited on a hill adjacent to the Ezhimala beach and is one of the attractions for the tourists.

It is also believed that Ezhimala had connections with great Buddha who is believed to have visited Ezhimala during one of his ventures across the country.

Ezhimala was supposed to have been the capital of Mushika dynasty. At present, the Ezhimala beach is making its presence recognized in the Indian naval map with a huge naval academy.
